Install the macOS agent
Download and install the Threatmatic agent on a Mac in under five minutes
The Threatmatic agent connects your Mac to your organization's control plane, enabling real-time policy enforcement and network telemetry. Installation requires no reboot and no special system permissions.
Prerequisites
- macOS 12 or later
- An API key — provided by your organization admin, typically via email
Steps
Download the agent
Visit agent-downloader.threatmatic.com and download the macOS package.
Open the installer
Open the downloaded .dmg file. Inside you will find two items:

| Installer | Installs and enrolls the agent |
| Uninstaller | Cleanly removes the agent if needed |
Double-click Installer to begin.
Enter your API key
When prompted, paste the API key provided by your admin and click Continue.
Your API key is tied to your organization. Keep it private — anyone with the key can enroll a device into your org.
Wait for enrollment
The installer will connect to the Threatmatic control plane and enroll your device automatically. This typically takes a few seconds.
Once complete, your device will appear in the Devices section of the Console with status Connected.
Uninstalling
To remove the agent, open the .dmg again and double-click Uninstaller. The agent and all associated configuration will be cleanly removed.
