Install the Windows agent
Download and install the Threatmatic agent on Windows in under five minutes
The Threatmatic agent connects your Windows device to your organization's control plane, enabling real-time policy enforcement and network telemetry. Installation requires no reboot.
Prerequisites
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- An API key — provided by your organization admin, typically via email
Steps
Download the agent
Visit agent-downloader.threatmatic.com and download the Windows installer. The file will arrive as a .exe.
Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded .exe to launch the installation wizard.
If Windows prompts with a User Account Control (UAC) dialog, click Yes to allow the installer to run.
Enter your API key
When prompted, paste the API key provided by your admin and click Continue.
Your API key is tied to your organization. Keep it private — anyone with the key can enroll a device into your org.
Wait for enrollment
The installer connects to the Threatmatic control plane and enrolls your device automatically. This takes a few seconds.
Once complete, your device will appear in the Devices section of the Console with status Connected.
Uninstalling
To remove the agent, open Add or Remove Programs:
- Press
Win + R, typeappwiz.cpl, and press Enter - Find Threatmatic Agent in the list
- Click Uninstall and follow the prompts
The agent and all associated configuration will be cleanly removed.
